Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Thursday started fresh rounds of mass virus testing amid a COVID-19 resurgence.
As of Thursday noon, over 4 million people have been swabbed, local health authorities told a press conference in the afternoon.
Since December 9, the city has logged a total of 234 local infections of COVID-19 as of Thursday afternoon at 1:00.
