Some 160 of these Terracotta Warriors in kneeling posture were excavated at the east end of Pit No. 2 in the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province. They form the vanguard. They are archers, clad in their armor and hair tied up, ready for battle, holding real weapons in their hands as they enter the underworld.
