Retired senior hockey players in NE China welcome Winter Olympics
A group of pensioners from Shenyang City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, has formed an ice hockey team. Their average age is 66 years old. Without boards, nets or a smooth surface, the seniors rely on their smarts and ingenuity to overcome their lack of facilities and enjoy the sport they love every winter. With the Beijing Winter Olympics approaching, ice and snow sports are riding a popularity surge in China. In line with Beijing 2022's vision of engaging 300 million people in winter sports across China, more and more people are participating and experiencing the charm of ice and snow sports.
