Chagan Lake has long been regarded as the premier destination for ice fishing in northeast China. The lake's well-protected ecosystem, ancient rituals handed down from generation to generation, and 2,000-meter-long fishing nets are unique characteristics of this fishing tradition. No modern machinery is involved, just the men and horses. Every morning, the fishermen get up early, usually around 4 a.m., and the fishing crew of 10-15 people and their horses head to the lake. Follow CGTN and join the fishing crew on the frozen lake to find out what makes a good day of ice fishing.
