A Carnival cruise ship that departed Miami last Saturday reportedly has "a small number" of people aboard who have tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the ship has been denied entry at the Caribbean island ports of Bonaire and Aruba, the operator has revealed.
Though the exact number of cases was not made immediately clear, local media has reported that nearly 2,500 passengers and more than 1,100 staff are aboard the vessel that was scheduled to return to Miami on Sunday, following an 8-day cruise.
This is the third outbreak this week affecting cruise ships operated by Carnival and Royal Caribbean departing from Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
