Chinese businesses are blasting Washington over a law that bans some imports from Xinjiang, based on "forced labor" accusations. The China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) says the move will disrupt global supply chains, while the China Cotton Association accuses the U.S. of trying to suppress the industry in the name of human rights. On Thursday, U.S. President Joe Biden signed the "Uygur Forced Labor Prevention Act." It bans imports from Xinjiang that the U.S. believes are made with forced labor. China is the world's second largest cotton producer, and a key player in the global textile industry chain.
