The number of fresh college graduates in China this year hit 9.09 million, the Ministry of Education said at a press conference on Tuesday. 

The number increased by 350,000 on a year-on-year basis, according to the ministry. The overall employment landscape has remained stable this year as a result of concerted efforts from all parties, the ministry added. 

A total of 12.07 million new jobs were created in China's urban areas from January to November, exceeding the year's target, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on December 15. Employment of college graduates has contributed significantly to the overall stability of the country's employment, said the NBS.

The Ministry of Education has cooperated with local education departments in different cities to provide a variety of services to aid employment, including open online career guidance live streaming classes for new graduates. A total of 46 online courses have been held for college graduates this year, attracting more than 135 million viewers so far.
