The Chinese mainland recorded 209 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 182 linked to local transmissions and 27 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

A total of 21 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 496 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 101,486, with the death toll remaining unchanged at 4,636 since January.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,598 (12,189 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 78 (77 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,931 (13,742 recoveries, 850 deaths)
