China successfully sent a Tianhui-4 satellite into orbit on Wednesday night from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu Province.

The satellite was launched atop a Long March-2D carrier rocket at 7:13 p.m. The flight this time marked the 404th launch of the Long March series carrier rockets.

Previously, two Tianhui II-02 satellites were sent into orbit from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on August 19. The satellites are mainly used for scientific experiments and research, land and resources surveying, and geographic surveying and mapping.
