Repeated heating, bending and hammering is the essence of a ring pommel sword. The ring pommel originally served a practical purpose: to secure the sword to the bearer's wrist. But over the years, it became something more, a part of the weapon's personality. The crystal pig pendant on the pommel represents a foreign war god. It was meant to raise the soldiers' morale.
