Four reported dead in Sudan's crackdown on protests

A Sudanese doctors' committee said four people were shot dead during a crackdown on nationwide protests against military rule on December 30. Witnesses said security forces fired tear gas and stun grenades as protesters marched towards the presidential palace in the capital Khartoum, and in the neighboring cities of Omdurman and Bahri.
