Chinese President Xi Jinping hailed 2021 as a milestone year in China's history, in his New Year address delivered Friday evening in Beijing to ring in 2022.
From eradicating poverty and building a moderately prosperous society to maintaining a harmonious human-nature relationship and presenting successful Winter Olympics, the president touched upon various topics reviewing the country's achievements in 2021 and expressed his wishes to the coming year.
CGTN has gone back and looked at which words have been most frequently mentioned in Xi's New Year addresses since his first address on December 31, 2013.
"People" has been the most mentioned word, featuring 70 times. Other frequently used words include "poverty alleviation," "world," "development," "peace," and "Xiaokang Society."
