Cities in central American countries have welcomed 2022, but some have to cancel the New Year events because of the rising number of Omicron cases. For example, Mexico on December 31 reported over 10,000 new infections. CGTN's Franc Contreras reports that Mexico City canceled some New Year events to prevent the transmission of the virus.
