Coaches are increasingly incorporating these gadgets into training regimes designed to help Olympic hopefuls reach and sustain optimal levels year-round.

A high-tech laboratory set up by Northeast Normal University was put into service recently in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, and many advanced technologies have been offered to athletes and coaches ahead of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
