Kazakhstan detains 7,939 people over unrest

Kazakhstan's security forces have detained a total of 7,939 people as of Monday over last week's unrest, the Interior Ministry said.
Meanwhile, the unrest cost Kazakh businesses 93.7 billion tenge ($217 million) in economic losses, according to the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
