Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has tested positive for COVID-19. In a tweet, Singh said he has mild symptoms and has been under home quarantine. The fast-spreading Omicron variant has been fuelling an almost eight-fold rise in daily infections in India since the start of the year. The Indian government has administered 1.5 billion vaccine doses in total.
