N China's Tianjin tightens curbs as COVID-19 cases surge

The Chinese mainland has reported 110 new local COVID-19 infections. The central province of Henan remains the hardest hit, with 87 cases. The northwestern province of Shaanxi registered 13 infections, all in its capital Xi'an. The city of Tianjin, which is a half-hour train ride from the capital Beijing, logged 10 new cases. It has conducted mass testing on its 14 million residents. Authorities have asked people not to leave the city unless necessary.
