Xi Jinping sends message of sympathy to Polish president over his COVID-19 infection
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday sent a message of sympathy to Polish President Andrzej Duda over his infection with the coronavirus.
"I am hereby sending you greetings and wishing you a speedy recovery," President Xi said in the message, adding his best wishes for Poland to overcome the pandemic.
China and Poland have supported each other since the pandemic broke out, with the two countries' bilateral friendship deepened, Xi pointed out, stressing that he would like to work alongside Duda in pushing the comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
According to an official announcement last Wednesday, Duda has tested positive despite receiving three COVID-19 shots. "The president is fine, has no severe symptoms and is under constant medical care," his chief of staff Pawel Szrot announced on Wednesday.
