Its lifeless scenery and eerie sounds have earned Hami in the Taklamakan Desert the name Devil City. Twenty kilometers away is the town of Wuqu, where almost every family owns a motorcycle. Local resident Zacher, like most of his peers, loves the thrill of a motorcycle race. He has been particularly looking forward to doing well in the Taklamakan Rally, which passes through Devil City. But in the event, he sacrifices his chance of placing in the top three when he stops to help a foreign competitor who is lost.
