An injured owl found standing in the middle of a road in Heihe City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, has turned out to be a second-class protected animal – a great grey owl.
Passersby rushed the owl to the nearest wildlife rescue center for examination by professionals. An injury was discovered in one of the bird's wings, which might explain its inability to fly. The center staff cleaned up the wound and fed the bird some food. As the bird was weak and underweight, the staff decided to keep it until it fully regains its health and can be released back into the wild.
