Beijing's National Indoor Stadium, the ice hockey venue for the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, started producing ice on Monday as preparations enter the home stretch for the Games, which are less than a month away. The ice-making process, which is expected to take over eight days, includes the cooling of the concrete layer, the making of the bottom ice, painting and line drawing, and the laying of signs. The National Indoor Stadium previously hosted artistic gymnastics, trampoline gymnastics and handball events during the Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008, as well as wheelchair basketball during the Paralympic Summer Games that followed.
