7 killed, 2 missing in hydropower station accident in SW China

Seven people were killed, and two are still missing after a water pipe valve burst flooded a hydropower station in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday, local authorities said Thursday.

Eleven maintenance workers were trapped in the station accident in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and two were saved alive.

Rescue operations are still underway, and an investigation is launched to ascertain the cause of the incident.
