China Three Gorges Corporation, the world's largest hydropower enterprise, announced on Friday that it generated more than 340 billion kilowatt-hours of power from renewable energy in 2021, ranking first in the world and achieving a year-on-year increase of 9.5 percent. Renewable energy includes wind energy, solar energy, hydro energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy and other non-fossil energy. It is estimated that 340 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity can replace about 100 million tonnes of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 280 million tonnes.
