French teachers strike over government's COVID-19 school protocols
01:07

French teachers voiced anger at the government's confusing rules of handling the COVID-19 pandemic during a nationwide strike. Within a week, authorities changed the rules on testing schoolchildren twice. The Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer outlined the testing rules in an interview on January 2, and the French Prime Minister announced a different version only a few days later. Teachers are also demanding higher quality masks, more testing at schools and devices in classes warning when ventilation is required.
