Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday pledged to deepen international cooperation for a brighter future with people of all countries.

Wang made the remarks when delivering a video speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum on Cooperation among Friendship Cities for Common Development of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

At the opening ceremony, Wang said that hosting a successful Beijing Winter Olympic Games is a solemn commitment China made to the international society.

He believes that the Winter Olympics will become a platform for friendship and cooperation between Chinese people and people of all countries.

Wang thanked the great support from international society, especially from friendship cities during the preparation period. As the time for the sports event is approaching, Wang said that China is ready to work with the international society to implement the Olympic spirit of "mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play."

We are ready to deepen further the unity and cooperation among people of all countries, inject more confidence and impetus to the world, and work jointly for a brighter future, Wang said.
