The number of Omicron variant COVID-19 cases in Myanmar has risen to 76, after 10 new cases were reported on Saturday, according to a Ministry of Health statement.

The variant was detected in eight people entering from India, including five Myanmar nationals and three foreigners, the statement revealed, adding that the first two locally-transmitted infections had been detected in family members with close contact to previously confirmed cases.
