Blizzard whips U.S. East Coast, grounding planes, stranding motorists
A dangerous winter storm is hitting parts of North America, whipping the U.S. East Coast with significant snowfall. Meteorologists said at least 30 centimeters of snow fell in parts of New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania through Monday. Power outages affected tens of thousands of people, and over 4,000 flights were canceled or delayed. Motorists were stranded on highways for hours. The snowstorm was also creeping up into Canada.
