The British inflation rate accelerated in December to its highest level since March 1992, official data showed on Wednesday, fueled by rising prices for clothing, food and furniture. The annualized rate jumped to 5.4 percent last month from 5.1 percent in November, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.
