Vietnam has recorded its first locally-transmitted Omicron variant cases, the health authorities reported on Wednesday.

The three positive cases, which were detected over the weekend, are all related to a COVID-19 patient who recently entered Vietnam from the United States, according to the HCMC Center for Disease Control.

Vietnam has now confirmed a total of 2,062,128 COVID-19 infections, according to its health ministry.
