Satellite images lay bare volcanic destruction on Tonga

The Land Satellite Remote Sensing Application Center of the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources captured multiple images of the Tongan capital Nuku'alofa after the volcanic eruptions on January 14 and 15. Comparison with images captured in August 2020 demonstrates that the volcanic ash has changed the island's surface from green to gray.
