More than 140 U.S. lawmakers are calling on Trade Representative Katherine Tai to immediately revive and expand a tariff exclusion process on Chinese goods.
In a bipartisan letter to Tai, they said her proposal to relaunch exclusions for a limited number of Chinese imports is too narrow. The House of Representatives members said their move is aimed at helping U.S. manufacturers whose interests have been hurt since a broader exclusion program lapsed a year ago.
