Tonga volcano eruption: How severe, can we predict and what's the consequence?

From a scientific perspective, what is the magnitude of the eruption of Tonga's volcano? Can we be warned of such volcanic eruptions? How will the eruption affect the climate and our lives? Dr. Wei Songqiao, Endowed Assistant Professor of Geological Science at Michigan State University, who is known for his research on submarine volcanoes and earthquakes in the subduction zone of Tonga, says that the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai volcano is a submarine volcano, which makes it difficult to assess its magnitude and monitor, because there is not as much surface information. Wu Changhua, Executive Director, Professional Association for China's Environment, says that compared to the scale of the 1991 Pinatubo eruption, the eruption this time has had minimal impact on climate change because of less eruption material and a shorter eruption time. However, she added that the eruption will have an impact on food security, food safety, infrastructure, and marine biodiversity.
