Beijing reports 7 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Beijing reported seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases and two asymptomatic cases between 16:00 Sunday and 16:00 Monday, local health authorities told a press conference.

The Chinese capital has now seen 52 local positive cases of COVID-19 since January 15. 

Among them, six confirmed cases tested positive for the Omicron variant and 46 tested positive for the Delta variant, including 11 asymptomatic cases.

So far, Beijing has listed one area in its Fengtai District as high risk for COVID-19 and four areas as medium risk, including three in Fengtai. 

The second round of mass virus testing will be conducted across Fengtai on Tuesday, officials said.
