In Burkina Faso, the government has denied reports of a coup after gunfire was heard near the president's residence and in military camps. Sustained gunfire rang out Sunday from army barracks, and protesters ransacked the headquarters of President Roch Kabore's political party. Soldiers said they were demanding support and training in their fight against militants linked to al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
