Chinese President Xi Jinping met Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee. Xi said that after more than six years of preparations, Beijing is ready to honor its commitment to deliver a simple, safe and splendid Olympic Games. Bach praised China for its efficiency, determination and dynamism. He said measures taken by China would ensure a safe, smooth and successful Olympic Games.
