Injured leopard seeks sanctuary in NW China sheep pen
A villager in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region found an injured snow leopard in a sheep pen.
Police officers, who were called to the scene, contacted the local wildlife rescue service for help when they realized the animal had fractured its right hind leg.
After officials tranquilized the leopard, they bandaged the fractured leg before transferring the animal to the wildlife rescue center, where staff said they plan to release it back to the wild when it fully recovers.
