European Satellite Company (SES) is working with Tongan Digicel to restore international communications in Tonga, after it was hit by a volcanic eruption and tsunami.

The first international calls service from Tongatapu provided by Digicel has been up since January 19, SES said in a statement Tuesday. Both SES and Digicel teams are working on restoring vital communications services in the coming days.
