Members of a radical group known as Yakyn Inkar were among those detained in Kazakhstan on suspicion of committing crimes during the recent mass riots, according to a documentary shown on state television on Thursday.

The group was categorized as extremist in 2018 by Kazakhstan's security department and its activities have been prohibited throughout the country.
