In Guangzhou, there is an ancient village with a history of some 900 years. It's a living museum of the Qing-dynasty architecture and Cantonese multi-family community. Despite being located in a popular lake park, the unique cultural heritage here has gone unnoticed until recent years. Since 2017, the city has given the village a "face-lift", repairing old buildings and introducing new tenants in an effort to revive the neighborhood. Artists, musicians and craftsmen have settled in Pan Tang and added new strokes of color to the area's vibrant history.
