- French President Emmanuel Macron said Normandy Format talks seeking to settle the crisis in Ukraine will continue in the next few days, as he met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Polish President Andrzej Duda in Berlin on Tuesday.
- Macron also met his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky earlier, where he said leaders of both Russia and Ukraine had committed to honoring the Minsk accords.
- The U.S. said it's encouraged by France's diplomatic efforts and the recent talks between the presidents of France and Russia. "We encourage and we're encouraged by any efforts at diplomacy," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said.
- Russia on Tuesday denied Putin had promised Macron that Moscow would stage no further maneuvers near Ukraine for now.
- Russia has said on many occasions that it has no plans to invade Ukraine.
