Pingyao is an old township with magnificent parapets and ramparts, and lined-up crenelations circulated the periphery, with shops and stores opened in the hustle and bustle, with traditional quadrangles built with grey bricks and tiles. It has witnessed ups and downs for a thousand years but has kept its original look.
