Over U.S. 100,000 households cut off from power after heavy storm

At least 100,000 households in the U.S. faced power outages on Sunday due to a heavy winter storm which is battering the northeast region. 

Some areas of Massachusetts have seen as much as 75cm of snow, local media reported.

Forecasters warned of extremely cold temperatures in the northeast which have affected over 15 million residents. 

More than a thousand fights in or out of the U.S. have been cancelled, data from Flight Aware showed on Sunday.
