The Republic of Korea's military said the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired an unidentified projectile into the waters of its east coast, and the Japanese Coast Guard said it might be a ballistic missile.

This would be the seventh test for the month after Pyongyang confirmed it tested a hypersonic missile nearly three weeks ago. The last time the DPRK tested this many weapons in a month was in 2019 after high-profile negotiations between its leader Kim Jong Un and then-U.S. president Donald Trump collapsed.
