Thousands of protesters gathered in Canada's capital Ottawa on Saturday to protest vaccine mandates, masks and lockdowns.

Some people parked their cars on the grounds of the National War Memorial and danced on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Many carried signs cursing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. 

Police prepared for the possibility of violence and warned residents to keep away from the downtown area. A top parliament security official advised lawmakers to take precautions, as their homes might be targeted.
