Chinese President Xi Jinping, on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council, extended Spring Festival greetings to all Chinese around the world on Sunday at a reception in Beijing.

Noting that the new year is the Year of the Tiger, Xi said traditional Chinese culture sees the tiger as the king of the animals and as a symbol of strength, bravery and fearlessness. He urged people to work together to write a new chapter of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
