In China, family dinners on the eve of the Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, vary significantly between the North and the South. Chaoshan delicacies taste fresh and light. Every year during the Spring Festival, residents in the coastal area in south China's Guangdong Province prepare ceremonious meals for big family reunions. However, because of recent COVID-19 outbreaks, many have chosen to stay in the cities they work. Lisa Wang is one of them. Spending the third Spring Festival in Beijing, she sticks to Chaoshan traditions in cooking her New Year's Eve dinner.
