Austria's national vaccine mandate, the first of its kind in Europe, takes effect today. All citizens aged 18 and over will need to be fully vaccinated or face a fine of up to $4,000. Meanwhile, the government plans to loosen restrictions this month. This includes ending lockdown curbs for vaccinated people which have been in place since November.
