The unusual march of a herd of wild Asian elephants, deviating from their traditional migration route in southwest China's Yunnan Province, captured unprecedented global attention, ever since leaving their forest home in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Yunnan Province in March 2020.

A musical named "The Herd Returns With Spring" was featured during the 2022 Spring Festival Gala on Monday evening, which reenacted the scenes of the elephants' journey back home.
