The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has surpassed 434 million, with over 5.9 million deaths, the latest data from Johns Hopkins University shows.

The Chinese mainland recorded 239 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 112 linked to local transmissions. 

China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region recorded 17,063 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.

Delhi Disaster Management Authority announced on Friday that all coronavirus-related restrictions would be withdrawn in the Indian capital, after government data showed cases of the Omicron variant had fallen.
