The torch relay for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is scheduled to take place from February 2 to 4, spanning three competition zones: Beijing, Beijing's northwestern suburb district of Yanqing and Zhangjiakou in neighboring Hebei Province. About 1,200 torchbearers will visit some of China's most remarkable sights and the last leg of the relay will take place in a "closed loop" area of the Beijing Olympic Forest Park, which contains the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube, on February 4, the opening day of the Winter Olympics. The first stop of the relay was this morning in an open area of the park. Some of the torchbearers and volunteers shared their stories with CGTN.
